Jamil Shamoon

Jamil Shamoon, President of Symons Fire Protection, Inc. is passionate about leadership. He seeks to cultivate a business where people, customers and employees, are of higher value than profit. Jamil worked his way up from the bottom of the fire protection industry and the company itself. Hired in the late 90’s by Symons as a helper in the field, he started out threading pipes as a part-time job. Jamil’s work ethic resulted in him quickly climbing the “corporate ladder” so-to-speak. He moved up the ranks from helper to fitter, foreman, project manager, vice president, and most recently, president.

Jamil became president in 2019. However, he unknowingly took over Symons mere months before crisis. Yet, what may have looked like a stroke of bad luck to an outsider was seized as a unique platform for good. Despite the past couple of years, Jamil continues to favor people over profit. This priority has resulted in returning customers, opportunities for giving, and a faithful workforce behind him. Through various incentives and strategic growth pursuits, Symons continues to thrive post-pandemic under Jamil’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Jamil has also become a leader in the fire protection industry due to his passion for fire-life safety and people. He has sat on many boards and was even named “Young Professional of the Year” by the AFSA in 2020. In short, Jamil’s focus remains the same: using leadership to develop the best team of fire protection professionals while investing in their career paths.
